… to efficiently master the difficult art of recognising aromas, there is not better way than to see them:-)
That is why the city of Beaune in France (the capital of Burgundy) occasionally (on special occasions such as the annual Vente des Vins d'Hospices de Beaune or Elégance des Volnays auction) holds a "LA CAVE AUX ARÔMES" exposition, where people can look at groups of aromas and smell them as much as they want in complete silence and convergence.
Representative exhibits from each group are collected in large see-through glass bowls whose opening takes the shape of a relatively long neck; this is where you can place your nose and while smelling look at the products that give away aromas for each of the presented scent lines.
